Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of
God moved upon the face of the waters.
Moved = hovered
Form = wasteland, chaos, empty space
Void = emptiness, waste
Deep = ocean; abyss, the grave
1. Our lives without Christ = valueless to the Kingdom of God, they are a wasteland, unfruitful.
2. BUT with Christ, the Spirit brings fruit into our lives and orders our steps so that our lives become productive..
3. The Spirit hovered over the earth until it was time to bring order; the separating of the seas and land; the creation of the animals, plants, and people.
4. He hovers over us now. He is active in our lives.
5. In Revelation, we are sealed by the Spirit of God until we return home.
Our job is to retain our first love, how do we do that?
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on
the earth. 3 For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in
God.
We have heard it said in the Christian community many
times that salvation is free. This statement is true. Salvation
does not cost any money, in that sense it is free. Mark 8: 34
When He (Jesus) had called the people to Himself, with His
disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come
after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will
save it. We see here that to truly be a disciple of Christ, one
must put aside selfish ambition, the seeking of wealth, and
high minded things and surrender to Him. In other words, it
will cost us our lives here on earth by surrendering to the
things and will of God. That might seem extreme to some
but in reality it is not. What is it really to give up
drunkeness? To give up a hangover? To be free from
addictions? To settle old accounts of abuse and pain? See,
God leads us into places to deal with these issues so that
we can be free from them. Just as we desire our children to
be in good health, to be psychologically well, and to live a
life that we are proud of, so does our Heavenly Father. I
have learned through many experiences that what God
desires for me is better than what I desire for myself. I
haven’t always gotten it right at first and sometimes not at
all. Opportunities of forgiveness have slipped by and some
issues remained unresolved at that time. However, once we
submit it to Christ, rest assured that His grace is sufficient
and His mercy endures forever…simply put, those things
that we cannot or have not made right, we surrender unto
God for His forgiveness and we surrender it unto God, giving
it over to Him. Not to say that we should sin, God forbid, but
rather submit our shortcomings when they come about.
Christ is faithful to forgive us when we confess such to Him.
Have a blessed day and a blessed week!
In Christ,
